dainty silver table

This dainty silver table was made on consignment and partly designed by a friend that needed a stand for a particular houseplant.

The table on the right is only six inches high and is a model for a table that I might someday build.

I used to make simple wooden furniture.  My apartment and some friend’s houses are filled with various small table that I have made.  One day a few years back, I had some left over pieces of wood and amused myself by gluing them together.  The result was an interesting piece of sculpture.  For the first time in years (I used to make pottery) I had created a piece of art.  Or, at least, I thought so.

I couldn’t stop.  Soon my entire house was crammed with wooden sculptures painted with acrylic or stained and finished.   When I had no more room, I was more or less forced to switch to painting on canvas.  This took up a lot less room.

Soon I will run out of room for the paintings and I will then be forced to finally finish writing my 15-act play.  But even that will eventually fill up all the extra memory on my laptop.  At that point it will be time for me to cheerfully go into the blue tunnel that leads to the afterlife.
