rainbow way

Often in the back of my mind when I create my small wooden sculptures is the vision of what they would look like on a grander scale.

Consider Robert Indiana's Love sculpture on the corner of 55th and 6th Avenue in New York City.  If it were four inches high it would be just an appealing coffee-table ornament.  But rendered in metal and 12 feet high, it is a world famous icon!

I often imagine locales where I could install particular large scale works.  I would love to build some of the structures below on the Charlotte Rail Trail. Or perhaps on the Sugar Creek Greenway.

I think  rainbow way would look great if it were ten feet high and located in Harvey Milk Plaza in the Castro district of San Francisco.
